Welcome to my website

My name is András Somogyi, I work in computer graphics, primarily focusing on creating vector-based coats of arms. I created this website to showcase and share my work, which is available under the Creative Commons 4.0 (CC-BY-NC-ND-4.0) license.

In the past, I actively contributed to Wikipedia under the username Madboy74, where I shared many of my images freely. Over time, however, I decided to end my activity there. I didn’t stop creating, though — I continued to share my work on Facebook under the name Címerrajzolás (“Coat of Arms Drawing”).

My goal is not only to display the coats of arms I’ve drawn but also to make them easily accessible to everyone — something that wasn’t fully possible on Facebook. The uploaded images are primarily available as vector SVG files, but high-resolution PNG versions are also downloadable. Additionally, I’ve begun compiling a knowledge base from external sources, aimed at providing useful information for those interested in heraldry.

My main focus is on Hungarian and neighboring countries’ heraldry, as these are often overshadowed by their Western counterparts. Instead of quantity, I emphasize detail and quality — creating a complex coat of arms can sometimes take weeks or even months, so the growth of the collection is naturally a slow process.
